I have pretty much stopped adding people to my Friends List since I got down to Antarctica. I simply don't have the time to keep up with existing people on my FL. But that doesn't mean you can't add me. Please go right ahead!

I will be working at McMurdo Station, on Ross Island in Antarctica from 9/08-10/09 and 1/10-9/10.

Things I've seen here that I like already -- your John Steinbeck interest...amtrak... I'm going to start using it soon for literary pursuits and research: I'll check out your website.

welcome! sure i'll add ya back. I would suggest getting on Amtrak as soon as possible as there is a serious possibility that many of its long distance routes will be cancelled. Bush has been pushing to cut all funding for Amtrak and it looks like the House is gonna cut HALF of their funding.

For some reason I cna't reply at ALL to comments so... explaning what loli is.

Loli is a shortened form of lolita. So people don't think I'm a perv. it has Nothing to do with the nove but is a gothic fashion subculture thingy in japan. My icons are pictures of loli's from ads and such for the various clothing companies.

I really am loving these spiders. After some research today I figured out that they are most likely "garden spiders" and I think they are females.

I noticed you had friended me, so I went through your journal to check you out... and wow. I was just amazed at some of the things that you say. Your imagery about the ball of twine, and how people's faces were reflected onto it... I was left breathless.

Ok just letting you know- I'm officially obsessed with 'Has Been.' It's rocking my world. My favorite tracks are the father-daughter one and the 'together' one. The drowning one makes me sad because I know it's true- it's really strangely honest and vulnerable and raw. Thanks for providing me with my new favorite album!!!!

Joy! I am glad you are enjoying it so much! I am a big fan of the fatehr-daughter song as well. I particularly love the part when he brings up reading a book -- he is so enthusiastic and at the same time so desperate -- its wonderful!

I ran across your journal in [info]youcantwrite, and must say I've come away with a high opinion. Though I wouldn't write a review in formal terms on the community, I would like to do so colloquially, and here: one of the most interesting LJs I've seen in some time!

I particular enjoy the beard-growing campaign as well as the online travelogue you wrote regarding your trans-continental journey earlier this year. Good stuff.
